April 2014
Dear Church Family:
As we come closer to the Easter Season we are reminded of “Hope” and “Resurrection.” The greatest story ever told is “that Christ died for our sins just as the Scripture said. He was buried and he was raised on the third day, as the Scriptures said.” 1 Corinthians 15:3b-4 He has risen indeed!
We will begin our Easter Season with a family meal together on Maundy Thursday – the day before Good Friday. It is a remembrance of the Last Supper and is a time to celebrate Communion together in a less formal way. Supper will begin at 6:00 pm.
The community Good Friday Service will be held this year at Saint James United Church at 10:30 am, April 18th.
On Sunday, April 20th (Easter Sunday) we will have a Continental Breakfast at 8:30 am for those who come a little earlier, followed by Sunday School at 9:15 and our Easter Worship Presentation “My Hope” at 10:30 am.
We trust you will be able to worship with us. This is a wonderful time of year to invite that friend, co-worker or neighbor to join with you. The message of Easter is timeless. Everyone needs the LORD!
We will receive a special Easter Offering which will help complete a project at Sanctuary House (a local women’s shelter) and the remainder will go to “Fix the Crik” a project at Camp Shiktehawk. Thanks for your help in these practical causes.
God Bless You All
In Christ,
Pastor Leonard
